It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Barossa District Football Club Life Member, Allan Turvey, on 4 June 2026, aged 84 years.
Allan was a former player with the Lyndoch Football Club and a dedicated committee member who played a significant role in the amalgamation of the Lyndoch and Williamstown Football Clubs to form the Barossa District Football Club. As an inaugural committee member, Allan served as Social Chairman and helped lay the foundations of the Club we know today.
His commitment to community sport extended well beyond our Club, with Allan also being a Life Member of the Lyndoch Cricket Club, Lyndoch Bowling Club and Willaston Football Club.
We are incredibly grateful for Allan’s significant contribution, dedication and service to our Club and the wider community. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to his wife Denise and all of his family and friends during this difficult time.
Allan’s funeral service will be held at Taylor & Forgie’s Adelaide Road Chapel on Friday 26 June at 10:30am, with a wake to follow at the Lyndoch Bowling Clubrooms.
Rest peacefully, Allan. Your legacy and contribution to our Club will never be forgotten. ... See MoreSee Less
Deepest condolences to his family, Denise, Mark, Caroline, Gail & Brian and families.
He was the same age as my dad and they would've played and coached together for Lyndoch and Barossa District Football & Netball Club.
What an incredibly beautiful tribute to such an amazing man, miss and love you always Al, not just a step Dad, but a truly amazing, kind, funny and loving man 💖💖💖

Now we are back up and running at Barossa Park for 2026, we are on the hunt for more Bar staff and set up volunteers for external events.
We are working with around 1 or 2 external events each month and for those, we need both RSA accredited bar staff and junior glassies. For most events help is also required to set tables and chairs in position - this is a volunteer role and generally only takes up to an hour with a few helpers.
Earn a few extra dollars - RSA Bar Staff earn $25 per hour and Glassies $15 per hour.
If you are interested in being notified about available event shifts, follow the instructions for the Barossa Events TeamApp attached.
