MOUTH GUARDS ARE A COMPULSORY – NO MOUTH GUARD, NO TRAIN NOR PLAY
During the 2012 AFL season, a Gold Coast Suns player had his front teeth knocked out during a football game. He later required dental surgery to have the teeth re-inserted after they were found on the ground after the game. The player had a mouthguard with him, but it was in his sock, not in his mouth! He missed games as he recovers from surgery, and there was the chance his teeth would die and turn black due to the loss in blood supply to them for some time.
There are two places for mouthguards:
- In your mouth when you are on the ground
- In your footy gear bag when travelling to/from the ground
There are two reasons for wearing your mouthguards at training and games:
- Protect your mouth/teeth from injury
- Learn to talk to each other with mouthguards in – you need to talk to each other during the game, this is also a skill that needs to be developed
Congratulations to our Bulldogs legends who proudly represented at the SANFL Country Championships in Port Pirie over the weekend!
Our Central Zone Senior Men worked tirelessly but missed the wins in the first two, finishing strongly in the last game!
Our Senior Women’s Central Zone team had a strong showing — drawing their first game, winning the second and narrowly missing on a win in the third game!
Meanwhile, Tamika Reid also lined up for the Northern Zone side that fought hard across the weekend, unfortunately finishing without a win.
A special shoutout to Jack Carpenter, named Vice Captain of the men’s team, and Kirra Tonkin, Deputy Vice Captain, best player for Central Zone and Team of the champions award and Tamika Reid for best player for Northern Zone, team of champions award and equal leading goal kicker for the championships— how awesome is that! 🙌
A special mention to "Sooty" for all your help as trainer across the men's and women's teams - Thankyou!

Weekend Wrap at Barossa Park 🔴⚪️🔵
Proudly supported by our gold sponsor Filmer Delivery!
It wasn’t our day on the footy field in Round 11, with all teams falling short against the Magpies in some hard-fought contests.
Netball delivered a mixed bag of results, with our Inter 1s, Inter 2s, and Senior 2s securing solid wins.
Our junior female footballers brought the fire on Sunday, both teams coming away with strong victories to finish the weekend on a h#barossadoggieso#WeekendWrapn#localsportl#oneclubneClub ... See MoreSee Less
