The Barossa District Football Club is pleased to announce the coaching appointments for the 2025 Reserves team.

Mark Horsburgh will take the reins as Head Coach, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in football. Mark has a strong history with the Two Wells Football Club, having played both junior and senior football. In addition, he has been involved with high level cricket. Mark is eager to play a part in the exciting future of our club, focusing on building depth and helping drive the team forward.

Andrew Traynor will step up as Assistant Coach for the reserves team in 2025. Starting his football journey at Barossa District, AT progressed through the junior ranks before playing reserves football. After a brief hiatus to focus on his career, he returned to the club in 2023 as Assistant Coach of the reserves, and in 2024, he took on the role of Head Coach for the reserves. In 2025, AT will continue to develop his coaching career, working closely with Mark to support and guide the Reserves team.

Both Mark and Andrew will work alongside Ashley (Red) in developing our senior talent, building depth in the squad, and contributing to the growth of the club in the seasons to come.

We wish them both all the best in their roles and look forward to an exciting year ahead for the reserves.

Good luck plugger

We are excited to announce Ricky Wilkin as our Senior Colts Coach for the 2025 season. Ricky’s connection to our club runs deep, having started his journey with Barossa District as a young player in the U10s. Over the years, he has built an impressive career, including time in the Central District underage program and over 100 senior games for Barossa, capped off by being a member of the 2006 premiership team.

Ricky’s coaching experience is equally noteworthy, having led junior girls' teams and the senior women’s team. Most recently, he served as the Junior Development Officer for the BLGW and currently holds the position of Senior Football Director at BDFNC.

We are thrilled to welcome Ricky back to the club in this new coaching role, and we look forward to the passion and expertise he will bring to the Senior Colts in 2025.
