Mouthguards

MOUTH GUARDS ARE A COMPULSORY – NO MOUTH GUARD, NO TRAIN NOR PLAY

During the 2012 AFL season, a Gold Coast Suns player had his front teeth knocked out during a football game. He later required dental surgery to have the teeth re-inserted after they were found on the ground after the game. The player had a mouthguard with him, but it was in his sock, not in his mouth! He missed games as he recovers from surgery, and there was the chance his teeth would die and turn black due to the loss in blood supply to them for some time.

There are two places for mouthguards:

  • In your mouth when you are on the ground
  • In your footy gear bag when travelling to/from the ground

There are two reasons for wearing your mouthguards at training and games:

  • Protect your mouth/teeth from injury
  • Learn to talk to each other with mouthguards in – you need to talk to each other during the game, this is also a skill that needs to be developed

Round 11 at Barossa Park πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅
It’s another massive weekend at home as we take on the Tanunda Magpies in Round 11 — and it’s also our SPONSORS DAY!

We’re proud to celebrate the amazing local businesses that back our club — your support means everything to us.

This week’s game times are proudly supported by Ministry of Beer — just a short stroll from the oval!

With the Magpies sitting just below us on the ladder in both Reserves and A Grade, it’s set to be a tight contest. Stick around as our Senior Women take to the field under lights in what promises to be another high-energy match.

Over on the netball courts, our girls are up bright and early, with the Senior 2s looking to hold onto second spot on the ladder as the second half of the season heats up.

πŸ‘§ On Sunday, our junior female footballers face Tanunda at Gawler South Oval, while our youngest pups — the U10 girls — wrap up their season with a 4-game carnival and presentations at Gawler Central Oval.

Stay after the final siren for dinner at the clubrooms — everyone welcome!

🎡 Then we roll into iPod Shuffle Night — a fun night of music, dancing, good vibes and a chance to win some cash! Grab your tick#BDFNC #sponsorsdayi#ipodshufflenightm#MinistryOfBeere — see you at the Park!

πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅Round 10 Results – Brought to you by our platinum sponsor Shorter Legal πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅

In a rare repeat, our A Grade footballers have drawn again with the Nuri Tigers – just like in Round 1!
Our Under 15s put up a tough fight but narrowly missed out, going down by just 1 point.

Our Senior Women bounced back strong, securing a great win over Nuri, joined by our Under 13 Girls, who also took home a solid victory.

In the netball, our Senior 1 and Senior 2 sides both brought home the win in hard-fought matches!
