🔴🔵⚪️ Dean Woods & Greg Dempsey 🔴🔵⚪️

Greg Dempsey (Demps) started his football journey as a junior through development programs at Port Adelaide Football Club, leading him Into a senior football career, where he was selected to train with the inaugural AFL squad at Port Adelaide, with the view of being drafted in 1997. He then returned to the league and reserve teams where he was a part of back to back premierships with the reserves. During his career, he has played at several country and metro clubs and added to his list of premierships at Sailsbury West and North Haven.

Dean Woods (Woodsy) is also previously from North Haven Football Club, where he played his senior football career, achieving the milestone of 500+ games for the club and was apart of 3 premierships during this time. Several coaching roles followed this with 4 years as a senior Womens coach, 2 years as a men's assistant D grade coach, 10 years as a junior coach ranging from U12's - U16's and coaching an U14 side to a premiership in in 2020.

We believe that Woodsy and Demps will be an asset to our club, setting a high standard for training, development and game days and we have no doubt that they will help us in becoming a successful club within the Womens competition in 2025.

Welcome to you both, from the Barossa District Football Club. ❤️💙🤍

We are thrilled to announce that Ash (Red) Barnett has been appointed as the new head coach of Barossa District Football Club! With a wealth of experience and an incredible passion for the game, Ash is set to lead our team into a new era. Red has a storied past at our club, serving as our bench coach to Todd Miles/Alan Obst in the 2016, 2017 premiership teams and 2018, 2019 finals campaigns. Add to that his most recent coaching experience taking AVFC to a GF this year and 3 consecutive finals appearances, Assistant coach role with the Central Zone Rep Side from 2018 -2024 and State Country Selector. Although originally hailing from country NSW, the strong sentiment from the Barnett family is that Barossa District is their adopted home, with wife Lee also a multiple Senior 1 Premiership Netball star with BDFNC. We’ve witnessed first hand the value and skills Red has in developing young groups like our current list and shaping them with a blend of incoming experience. Red will be promoting a tough, uncompromising, yet young and exciting brand of footy this year that we can all look forward to being a part of. The beauty with Red is that reputation will count for nothing, everyone starts back at 0. Great to have you back in 2025 Ash, Lee and Stephy! Welcome home! We are looking forward to hosting a meet the coach gathering at Ministry Of Beer in the coming weeks, keep an eye out on our socials for dates/times. All are welcome.

Good luck to Ash and Lee such a wonderful family on and off the field and court and a valuable asset to Barossa.

Congratulations & Best of luck Red.

All the best mate 👍🏻

Fun fact - Adam Spencer built this sign just for Red to lean on for the photo!!

We are thrilled to announce the return of Dual Premiership big man Jayden Goodfellow to the Barossa District Football Club! 🏉

Jayden's passion, aggression and forward craft on the field have always been a standout, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him back in the red, white and blue.

His leadership and experience, backed up by recently captaining AVFC to its first APFL grand final appearance, multiple Central Zone Representative appearances and former BLG team of the year honours will no doubt make a huge impact on and off the field this season.

Welcome back Jayden, Shailee and Harlow! Let’s make this a season to remember 💪

It’s our pleasure to announce that Dual Premiership Coach and Star Todd Miles is returning to the Kennel in a playing role for season 2025. We’re excited to have you return and help lead our pack with your passion, professionalism and hunger to win at all costs.
This past year Todd fulfilled a League Assistant Coaching position in the SANFL with the Victorious Glenelg FC whilst managing playing 9 games with Hamley Bridge.
The opportunity for some of our upcoming pups to work with Todd, learning fundamentals from someone of his calibre and standing in SA football is priceless.
It’s a delight to welcome back such a lovely family in Todd, Kellie and Noah!
