Mouthguards

MOUTH GUARDS ARE A COMPULSORY – NO MOUTH GUARD, NO TRAIN NOR PLAY

During the 2012 AFL season, a Gold Coast Suns player had his front teeth knocked out during a football game. He later required dental surgery to have the teeth re-inserted after they were found on the ground after the game. The player had a mouthguard with him, but it was in his sock, not in his mouth! He missed games as he recovers from surgery, and there was the chance his teeth would die and turn black due to the loss in blood supply to them for some time.

There are two places for mouthguards:

  • In your mouth when you are on the ground
  • In your footy gear bag when travelling to/from the ground

There are two reasons for wearing your mouthguards at training and games:

  • Protect your mouth/teeth from injury
  • Learn to talk to each other with mouthguards in – you need to talk to each other during the game, this is also a skill that needs to be developed

Barossa District Football & Netball Club

Hi Barossa District Family and our opposition for tomorrow South Gawler. Welcome to our first game at Barossa Park Lyndoch. The day has finally come! 🔴⚪️🔵

A massive thank-you to all our committee members and all the other volunteers that have helped with making this happen. We do ask that please be patient with our volunteers as they are learning everything from scratch.

Tomorrow there will be two entry points. Gate 2 on Barossa Valley Way is for vehicle and pedestrian access. We have over 200 formal parks inside but it will be busy. There will be plenty of parking available along Barossa Valley Way. Pedestrian access on Bevilaqua terrace - with lots of street parking along this road. Please ensure that there is no obstruction of resident’s driveways.

Join The Barossa Council Mayor, Bim Lange at half time of the A grade for his welcome. We hope you have a good day. 🔴⚪️🔵

These school holidays, 6 of our U13 Barossa girls participated in the inaugural Central District U13 Girls Football Academy at X Convenience Oval.

This program was designed to nurture the talents and further the skills of our up and coming football stars.

With an amazing team of coaches including Shaun Ribbons & Shelby Smith, teaching the fundamentals of football, Im sure every girl that attended gained something from it, to help them with their own personal development.

Congratulations & well done Girls.
